The Age of Idolatry

I have been stewing on this one for at least a year now, so here we go!

My first introduction into the word Idolatry was as a child and we studied the Israelite people in the Bible.  As Moses was leading the people from slavery to a new life in the promised land, the people were worshiping the old gods in the form of physical idols.  It got bad enough that 20% of the Ten Commandments essentially told the people that was wrong.

The Idolatry that I am referring to in this modern world has more to do with material possessions and extreme wealth accumulation.  It has more to do with staring at screens and the manufacturing of "famous" and "rich" people that many are programmed to imitate.  It has more to do with the ministry of information that is mentioned in Orwell's classic book 1984.  It has more to do with the basic functioning of Democracy depending on strong minded and independent thought, which is the primary defense against the constant onslaught of tyranny, aka those buggers who would steal from the rest of us to further their own interests.

In regard to our media and the careful, controlled programming that is repetitively thrown in our faces.  Who knows and who cares?  Maybe the things they are saying are correct, and maybe not, who knows?  And strangers that live all around the world that I will likely never meet or do life with, who cares?  If we all turned the screens off and made them irrelevant, they would have no money or power.  Who cares about these clowns in Washington DC, or Hollywood, or New York City?  If we didn't send them so much of our money via tax dollars and shopping, they would literally mean nothing to us.

One of the primary symbols used by the "elite" or the oligarchy is the pyramid with the all-seeing eye at the top.  In fact, it is on our currency they hold it in such high regard.  Have you ever wondered what that means?  In short, our oligarchy sees themselves as smarter and better equipped to guide society through their superior intelligence.  There must always be a top of the pyramid with fewer and fewer members hovering above the rest of us normies.  Nope!

The intense fire that will always burn within me is to rage against this hierarchical system until there is full equality for all of us.  In the Bible it clearly states that we are all sinners in his eyes, we are all the same.  But we are also all royalty, brothers and sisters of Jesus.  None of us are any higher in that hierarchy, aka the only one that matters.

Yes, there will always be wealthy among us, there are some of us that are smarter or work harder.  Yes, we will always have leaders, those of us who humbly serve the rest of us leading by example.

But where would we get our information?  I know for a fact that when you turn off the screens, just by interacting with people who still look at the screens, you will know what they want everyone else to talk about or what they are up to.  Going to local village or city council meetings monthly will keep you abreast where you live.  Isn't that all that really should matter to you?  They openly call it programming ... that should make all of us shudder and say "yuck, not me bro".

Get to know yourself, get to like yourself, spend some time in nature and listen to the lessons of our mother earth, have a few close local friends who you do life with, pray and get closer to God.  Let's leave these clowns to their own devices.

Thank you for reading

All The Bums Included

I consider myself a middle class, middle minded, small business owner and farmer, some Christian, some Anarchist, fiscally conservative and for the most part socially liberal.  On the graph below we would be to the right of the middle of the curve but nowhere near the circled B group.  We have friends on all parts of the graph. To address the graph.  Based on my life experiences, the circled group of A and B combined to include more than 90% of the "bums" I have ever known.  In general bums are net takers rather than net givers.  As you go further to the right you get richer people.  As you go further up the y axis there are more people.  I would like to focus on the tails of the graph where we find most of our problem children.  I feel the bums in America are pulling to the extremes and taking for granted that the rest of us in the middle will keep propping them up.  We should stand up to these bums, and soon. Now for the fun part a...

Lil Getaway

Megan and I just returned from a 5 day stay in Tulum, Mexico.  Kind of a last bit of hibernation mode until we start seeds and do it all over again!  Here are some of the highlights. The lodging was compliment of Hilton and included all of our meals and drinks.  We typically started the day with a walk around 8:30 for about an hour, then on to full breakfast buffet, literally everything you could imagine.  The highlights for me were egg whites with salsa, sauteed veggies, bacon, capers, smoked salmon, fresh fruit and sourdough bread.  Y'all know I am a big boy, that kind of machine requires some serious fuel! Next came some lounging around the pool, which was right by the beach super convenient like.  Between the pool and ocean sessions, we would typically read, play gin or backgammon, or snack at the pool bar which also had very good food.  Roundabout 6 or so every day we would mozie on back to the room and get cleaned up for dinner. The dinners...
